8th step: from Agdz to Marrakech
through Tasla and Taznakht

The main road goes from Agdz to Ouarzazate
through a mountain area with scary abyss, although it is beautiful for its wild
nature. But we suggest you an alternative with less curves and with the opportunity to visit a last Kasbah in Tasla.
Tasla (30º 34.008’ N, 6º 45.394’ W) is an ancient Ksar
in ruins. Inside, a village family has undertaken the restoration of the local chief house, turning it into a museum. This initiative deserves all
our support and we think that the travelers not going to follow this alternative route at least must make a short trip from Agdz to see Tasla.
Besides containing many objects of traditional use, the museum is really
worth visiting for the dwelling itself and especially for its ceilings and wooden painted columns. Fee: your will.
In Taznakht you must take the direction of Ouarzazate but, without arrive to
this town, you must go left to Marrakech. Before the Tizi n'Tichka you pass at Ighrem n'Ougoudal
(31º 13.693’ N - 7º 10.758’ W), where a magnificent community barn seeming a Kasbah has been restored by the Ministry of
Culture. To visit it you just have to give a tip to the guard, who lives next to the monument. Inside you'll see the compartments where the
different families stored their crops, spread around a fantastic central courtyard with Thuja wooden columns.
