Excursion on the back of the donkey till Iklane mosque of Afanour
The excursion start from Tombouctou hotel, on the back of donkey you will pass by the old Souk and then kser of Ait El Haj Ali crossing that village you will reach Todra river which you cross to enter in the famous palm grove of Tinghir. You take dankey's path benith the palm trees, olive tree, and corn fields. Finally, you reach the Afanour Kser where the old mosque and Koranic university Iklane is located.

On the trails of old-times
Iklane Mosque is a monument with a historical and cultural importance in Morocco. It was retored in 2007 by Afanour association of development with the help of a group of Catalan architects and Tomboctou hotel. Nowadays locals are friendly with visitors. The mosque is composed of ablution's room and prayer hall with a roof of rose laurel wood. From the terrace you have a panoramic view on the palm grove of Tinghir. This terrace is surrounded by classrooms and dormitories where students live in the past.
On the way back, you cross again the palm grove and you meet farmers working in fields with very old methods, chatting under the shade of olive trees or carrying alfalfa on donkeys back for cows at home. You can do this excursion also without donkeys.
