Spread over twenty miles, between the gorges of Todra and the desert plain, the palm-grove constitutes a heavenly orchard where a lovely peace reigns, birds sing, the water flows through the irrigation canals, men plow the earth, women cut lucerne and donkeys laden with fodder walk briskly through the narrow paths winding through fields.
