Excursions from Hotel Tomboctou
Tinghir is an excellent starting point for many excursions
in the High Atlas and Jebel Saghro mountains and also in the desert.
The following five routes are feasible on a day without hurries.

The mountain oasis
The national road goes to Tinejdad, where you can see the Oasis Museum in Ksar El Khorbat.
From there, a paved road enters the High Atlas by the gorges of Ifegh and reaches Aghbalou n'Kerdous. |

|
Todra - Gheris circuit
A good asphalt road attaches the Todra Gorge to the Gheris Gorge through
a beautiful scenery and nice villages, such as Tamtatoucht and Assoul. |

|
Todra - Dadès 4WD circuit
The famous circuit from Todra Gorges to Dadès Gorges remains one of the few
tracks of the High Atlas that have not been paved yet and offers stunning views along its entire length. |

|
Jebel Saghro 4WD circuit
The Tizi n'Tazazert track crosses the arid chain of Jebel Saghro
by the highest and most beautiful place. We can return by road through Alnif or by a different track. |

|
Merzouga dunes
The paved road arrives now to the foot of the Erg Chebbi and you
can make the round trip in a day without difficulty, even if you want to stay near the dunes until sunset. |
